Our In-school Programs(ISPs) include:
Anti-Violence Campaign(AVC)- Safe School Initiative: This project will involve a combination of strategies that will seek to work with secondary school students in public secondary schools and particularly senior students with the aim of disrupting the ingrained system of bullying and changing the narrative about bullying as “part of school life” among the students. Another initiative under the anti-violence campaign is the Effective Discipline Initiative which seeks to reduce the incidence of child violence that occurs through school discipline and the use of corporal punishment by teachers.
Education4Purpose Guidance and Counselling Days: This project will involve providing guidance and counselling to students that are about to make decisions about their education paths with a focus on students who are about to move on to senior secondary classes where they have to make the choice of enrolling in either science, arts or technology classes. Senior secondary school students who are about to write their WAEC examinations and make the decision about what course to study in the university or other higher institutions, will also receive guidance under this project.
Student Unions: This project will facilitate the establishment of a student-led club that will be managed by students and for students. The main aim of the club is to provide an avenue where the students can discuss issues that affect their schooling and share this information/ complaints they might have with their school authorities. The rationale behind this project is to give a voice to children and students and present them with an opportunity where their voices and opinions are heard allowing them to become major stakeholders in decisions that affect their own lives as students. Other activities in this club will involve discussions on issues such as gender-based violence, peer pressure and other issues raised by the students.
